PILNAR Pilgrim diary is the personal diary during your Camino. The app replaces the paper diary (which will no longer have to be carried!) by bringing together all your daily stories, and photos. After you return from your journey, you’ll be able to print all the stories and photos and still hold the story of your own Camino in your two hands. Furthermore, the app offers the possibility to concentrate on different themes and layers of your pilgrimage. Every day it proposes to focus on one or more important themes, or helps you to reflect by posing inspiring questions.
Besides keeping a personal diary, you might like to share your stories and photos with others. This too is possible with PILNAR Pilgrim Diary. With every story, you can easily decide whether you would like to keep it all to yourself, or whetheryou’d like to share it with other users. You can also easily send your entries to family and friends back home. And of course you can read the stories that other users have shared.
Last, the PILNAR Pilgrim Diary has bundled some useful apps that you will often use during your pilgrimage: a guide with useful maps and addresses, a Spanish dictionary, up to date weather forecasts, a virtual candle for small rituals, and inspiring Pilgrim Cards. This app has been developed by researchers from Tilburg University. We are very interested in all your pilgrim narratives and hope that you will want to share them with us using the PILNAR Pilgrim Diary. Please note: even if you label a story as being ‘private’ the researcher at Tilburg University will always be able to view it. This app is a follow-up on the PILNAR-project(PILgrim NARratives). As in this previous project, we will approach the generated data from this app with the utmost care and discretion. Your stories and personal information will obviously not be passed on to others.
We hope that PILNAR Pilgrim Diary will become your loyal travel companion during your Camino.
Buen Camino!
